Palm Springs

Even if it's just a couple hours from home, a weekend away is always refreshing, especially if it involves starting the weekend early! On Friday, we dropped our pup off at a kennel and jumped on the road to Palm Springs. It is such a cute little town with crazy hot weather, even for a southern Ca girl!

We headed straight to Mt. San Jacinto first, where we took an aerial tramway up 8,500 feet. It was at least 30 degrees cooler up there, so that was definitely a nice welcome into town.

I overestimated the comfort of my shoes, which I later paid for quite painfully, when I decided it was a good idea to to walk the 1.5 mile to downtown from our hotel for dinner. Palm Springs is such a sleepy town, time really seems to slow down when you're there. I credit the heat for the almost deserted streets; how can people have energy to do anything when moving your fingers alone starts a sweating frenzy!?

The best parts of visiting a new place is taking in the culture and tasting the food, so that's pretty much all we did. Our last day, we headed back into downtown for breakfast, the Palm Springs Art Museum and a stroll through the shops, oh and to see Marilyn of course!

It would definitely be awesome to go back when the weather cools out a little at home!
